AEO-REX Birmingham
Free · no card · 60 seconds

See exactly what ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say about your business.

The AI Visibility Check runs your domain against the engines your customers actually use, tells you whether you are accidentally blocking them, and scores you out of 100. You get the three fixes that matter most on screen — not gated behind a call.

This is what a result looks like

A score on its own is a grade, not help. Every result tells you what to do next, and if the answer is “nothing, you're fine”, it says that too.

What to do next
Do this one thing today

Your robots.txt is turning the engines away at the door, so nothing else you do can register. Here is the exact line to remove, and the replacement — copy it, send it to whoever maintains your site, and re-run this check in a fortnight. It is free and it is worth more than anything I could sell you today.

What the check actually measures

Six weighted components. The scoring is published because a score you cannot interrogate is worthless — and because I would rather you were able to fix it yourself than feel tricked into a call.

Crawler access
25 pts

Whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and Google-Extended can read you at all. Weighted heaviest because it is binary: blocked means invisible, and in one 2026 study 74 of 100 UK small businesses were blocking without knowing.

Citation presence
25 pts

Whether you are actually named when the engines are asked for a business like yours in your area, and who is named instead. This is the only component that measures the outcome rather than the cause.

Structured data
15 pts

Organisation, LocalBusiness and sector schema, plus whether services, hours and prices exist as real text rather than inside images, PDFs or JavaScript.

Entity consistency
15 pts

Whether your name, address, phone and registration match across your site, Companies House, your regulator's register and the major directories. Engines will not confidently recommend a business they cannot resolve as one entity.

Answer readiness
10 pts

Whether your content leads with the answer, carries named credentialled authorship, and is shaped so a passage can be lifted and quoted.

Agent readiness
10 pts

Whether an AI agent acting for a customer could understand your prices, availability, delivery or booking terms. Scored for everyone, urgent only for some — see AgentRex.

Questions about the check

Is the AI Visibility Check really free?

Yes, and there is no card and no forced call. It is automated, so it costs me almost nothing to run — which is exactly why I can give it away while agencies charge £1,500–£5,000 for an initial audit. The paid work starts only if you want a human to interpret and fix what it finds.

How accurate is the score?

The technical components — crawler access, structured data, entity consistency — are precise and reproducible. Citation presence is a sample, not a census: engines personalise and drift, so treat it as a strong indicator rather than an exact measurement. The paid audit runs 40 prompts by hand across five engines and captures screenshots.

What is a good score?

Above 75 is strong and above 90 is excellent. Most UK business websites score between 30 and 60, and average UK SME scores sit in the “needs work” band — so a mediocre number is normal, not shameful. Mine was 41 in March and is 62 today; I publish it monthly.

Questions about the data

What do you do with my details?

Store them to send your report and, if you opt in, occasional practical AEO tips. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties. AEO-REX is ICO registered under ZC099609 and you can ask me to delete everything at any time.

Will running this change anything on my site?

No. The check only reads publicly available pages, the same way a search engine does. It makes no changes and needs no access, logins or plugins.

Can I run it on a competitor?

Yes, and most people do second. It reads only what is public. Comparing your score with the practice that keeps getting named instead of you is usually more motivating than your own number.
